A great thank to Jasmit Vala (JHD), we finally managed to have better,faster  and simpler interface after the whole night hacking around the code ! [Raxit went to Jasmit’s home at 11.00 pm (approx) and reach home at approx. 7.00 am !, and during full time they have done coding]

Many times your love and motivation keep us coding !

Thanks again to Jasmit (and Yogesh !)   Finally major work of  “Mobile 4 Mumbai”  is finished.

What is remaining is

1. Better Installer, 2. Upgrade option provider, 3. Some GUI tweak, 4. faster algorithm 5. Real Data.

We will finish the stuffs as soon as possible, we are very much excited so many people asked us to have private beta.

Thank you all Mumbaikar once again, keep us motivating !

I was in office friday[July-11- 2008], and during the morning, get few calls from friends, few barcamper’s  and other folks from startup saturday and few friends. Telling Hey Raxit, “Mobile 4 Mumbai” is in DNA Newspaper today! Great Going , Congrats & All da best !” and all that simillar stuff.

Finally i read it online, and got a Print of Newspaper in noon !

Saturday when we checked E-mail, Oh! Many Congratulation, Private beta request and few Contribution Request !!!  Yeah, some of techie folks asked us, Would any development remaining ? Feel free to buzz us we are also Software engineer.! This is great idea and all that “Cheer up” word.

[While  writing this post Paras Shah, has ping me on GTalk,”This is great Raxit, do something like this for Ahmedabad also !”]

Some of you were expected to make available this “unique feature” (AFAIK) of MyKavita.com to be opensourced today at Barcamp Bangalore (www.barcampbangalore.org)

[Even we have not officially announced, some of our friends and few campers were knowing]. We just want to inform that, we will soon make this code available to public.

What the plugin is doing ?

we think this is unique and useful feature only with MyKavita.com right now !. If you are into blogging and wordpress, there is plugin by which you can put your “whole blog” under one Creative Commons license. But with MyKavita we found that it is nice to have “per post license” flexibility.

i.e. You may want to publish one poem under Attribution license, and other poem under Attribution-Non Derivative-NonCommercial license. you can do that rightnow only with MyKavita ! (As per our best knowledge there is no publically/opensource available plugin to do this.)

Why not right now ?

There are some minor Fix, documentation update is remaining.

Also currently one need to make change in themes manually to adopt the plugin.

[this issue will be there even we put it opensource in first release, we hope in next successive release we can eliminate this]

Also we are planning to have some better and userful content for MyKavita Creative commons section @ www.mykavita.com/cc

We got so many queries about our site was down and you were facing some nasty error, while you were trying to access mykavita.com or any blog on it.

Few of you folks were asking about MyKavita.com has been closed ?

No, Not Really, We were facing some server issue, and because of that accessing mykavita.com was getting some problem.

A bit technical details :

MyKavita.com is powered by Wordpress platform which requires php, mysql databases.

some of our php pages were consuming more memory then available (because of we underestimate the memory usage !)

from our host we got information that the memory consumption is more and we need to provide more memory and we did it.

Now MyKavita.com is working fine, as regular. if you find any problem accessing any part of mykavita.com feel free to drop an E-mail at Raxit@MyKavita.com

We regret the downtime. We will take care the best for you.

“Write your own poem”

You may knowing on Jan-27-2008 MyKavita.com has launched at Barcamp 
Techfest held at IIT Bombay. And Today we are one month old !!!

Regret 1: you have to suffer, 6-8hr downtime during the month ! We will make sure this not happend again abruptly.

Regret 2: No blogging since approx a month :(, This blog is and will be active.

Update 1: Spotlighted Poems is being posted on home page (www.mykavita.com) and Archives (all old spotlighted poem) will be maintained at www.mykavita.com/spotlighted

Here we want to grab the oppertunity to thank all Poet,Kavi for overwhelming response to the website.

Once more thanks to all the viewers (who are not Kavi/poet but they love to read poems !)

More importantly, heartly thank to all those who has communicated with us for Bug (hopefully only one :), reported by few of you, As well sharing important thoughts about new features,(some of them are already live NOW, yes check it out !) and few others will be live shortly (yes, we are in still ‘Understanding stage’  for few of your requests).

Just do Web Search of Poem or Kavita ! you will find there are many web-sites which provide people to write Poem. Majority of them are Forums/NewsGroups or other Content Management system and few are blogs !

People love to read Poem ! People wants to become fan of some poet and wants to read their poem again and again Regularly !

There are few blogs for poem/kavita on Popular blogging platforms ! Blogging seems to be perfect match for this type of stuffs !

Simply : Blogs are better than forums

There is nothing Wrong in Blogging platform. They are great and millions of user are using services of blogger.com, wordpress.com etc.
